Farmers Market in Great Wilbraham

Sewing and dressmaking in a Farmer's Market, you say? Why not, I say!

When I was first contacted about this opportunity by Emma Adams, I was quite surprised but after she explained that there was an entire room dedicated to crafters and artists, I signed up right away. After all, this takes place in the very same Memorial Hall where I do my workshops so it made a lot of sense really.

On the table next to me was a lady spinning and selling beautiful striped colourful yarn. In fact, there were various textile trinkets being sold all around. There was some wonderful pottery which looked not only functional but also beautiful. An artist was selling some large canvases in the corner and opposite me, tempting me, was a lady selling exquisite handmade macarons. And whirring away in the corner was me and my sewing machine, having a lovely time chatting to everyone as they passed and signing people up to courses and my newsletter.

Of course this Farmer's Market also sells the kind of culinary delights you would also expect to see, such as delicate goat's cheeses, giant oily olives and local fluffy cakes. Not to mention the popular coffee van. All of these things draw locals to the Memorial Hall.

Was it worth it? Well, I signed some people up to my newsletter, so possibly. Was it fun? Absolutely. Would I do it again? Definitely.
